Over 600 million people on the planet don’t have access to clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Many live in rural areas and spend hours each day walking to collect water for their families, impacting education, income, and health - especially for women and children. charity:water invests all funds into organizations with years of experience to build sustainable, community-owned water projects around the world, including wells, piped systems, BioSand filters, or rainwater harvesting systems. They also promote sanitation and hygiene training and establish local Water Committees to ensure progress continues. We are so impressed with charity:water and hope to continue supporting their efforts for years to come.
About the Artist
Cuban photographer Eduardo Herrera has been documenting everyday life in Cuba for over 20 years, providing unique insight into the history of Cuba from one of its native sons. In late July 2016, Keiyo visited Eduardo in Cuba to help him digitize his portfolio and is proud to feature photographs from his filmstrip collection in our catalog. He shoots with Leica M6, Hasselblad and Rolleiflex cameras.
